Environmental Warriors
Members of Chatten-Brown, Carstens & Minteer are (from left) Josh Chatten-Brown, Amy Minteer, Jan Chatten-Brown, Michelle Black and Douglas Carstens.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jan Chatten-Brown has fought to protect the environment in her home state for the past 47 years.

She challenged offshore drilling projects proposed by the Nixon administration throughout the 1970s in a series of battles that began while she was working in the office of the Los Angeles city attorney, who campaigned on promises to bring blue skies to the city.
