The founders of Aegis Law gave up secure jobs to start a firm devoted to fighting for the underdog.

In 2003, when Kashif Haque and Samuel A. Wong decided to open up their employment law practice, Aegis Law Firm PC, they left behind high-paying jobs in Los Angeles to move to Irvine.

Haque and Wong, who knew each other through mutual friends, shared an interest in employment law. But it was a scary decision to open a practice together, Haque said.
