Robert Mendez, Randy Martinez, Anthony Harang, Kevin Johnson filed a class action against R+L Carriers Inc., R&L Carriers Shared Services LLC on behalf of similarly situated employees. Mendez worked as a truck driver for defendants.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs contended that defendants failed to routinely pay them for all hours worked. They also contended that defendants did not provide them with meal and rest periods.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied all allegations, claiming that all drivers were always provided meal and rest periods.

Result

The parties agreed to settle the dispute for $9.5 million.
