On Feb. 9, 2011, a vehicle driven by Paul Verger crashed into Artemio Martinez, who was riding a bicycle, at Grandview Blvd. in Los Angeles. Martinez sued Verger.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Martinez alleged that Verger drove his vehicle negligently because he did not stop at a stop sign and should have yielded to plaintiff while he biked across the street.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant argued that plaintiff was not riding his bicycle on the correct side of the road and should have stopped at a stop sign, but didn't.
