Facts

Christopher Corsi and Charlene Galion filed a class action against Apple Inc. in relation to warranties they had for their iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3SG, and iPod Touch devices. Plaintiffs had warranties under Apple's one-year standard, or two-year standard warranty, and were rejected when they desired repairs or replacements for their devices.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs alleged Apple wrongfully rejected their warranty claims when a strip of paper underneath their iPod and iPhone devices became pink or red, which meant that the device had been placed under water. Plaintiffs alleged the paper was chemically sensitive and could change due to humidity or sweat.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Apple denied any wrongdoing.

Result

Apple agreed to pay $53 million in a settlement.
