Facts

On Dec. 2, 2006 at 7 p.m., plaintiff Gina Valencia was stopped with passengers, Kimberly Maradiago and Chira Neuble, both 14, at the intersection of La Brea and 3rd Street in Los Angeles, when she was rear-ended by defendant Vahik Mirzayans. The collision was low-impact and resulted in minor property damage. The plaintiffs sued defendant for motor vehicle negligence.

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
The plaintiffs contended they were stopped at a red light when defendant rear-ended them.

Specials in Evidence

Plaintiff Valencia sought $1,128.

Damages

Plaintiff Neuble sought $3,005 in chiropractor services. Plaintiff Valencia sought $3,365 in chiropractor services. Plaintiff Maradiago sought $3,025 in chiropractor services.

Injuries

Plaintiffs Neuble and Maradiago suffered soft tissue injury and sprains in the lower and mid-back. Plaintiff Valencia suffered soft tissue injury.

Result

The parties agreed to an $18,670 settlement in which plaintiff Neuble received $5,565; plaintiff Valencia, $7,500; and plaintiff Maradiago, $5,605.
