Facts
On Dec. 2, 2006 at 7 p.m., plaintiff Gina Valencia was stopped with passengers, Kimberly Maradiago and Chira Neuble, both 14, at the intersection of La Brea and 3rd Street in Los Angeles, when she was rear-ended by defendant Vahik Mirzayans. The collision was low-impact and resulted in minor property damage. The plaintiffs sued defendant for motor vehicle negligence.

The plaintiffs contended they were stopped at a red light when defendant rear-ended them.
