Storm8 LLC's customers filed a class action suit against the company.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The class alleged that Storm8 removed phone numbers from the customers' phones through software built into its games, without approval and in violation of state and federal law.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendants contended that it never violated any state or federal law.

Result

The parties reached a settlement whereby Storm8 agreed to disclose what user data it collects in its privacy policy, as well as distribute 45 in-game points to each class member.
