Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff allegedly suffered from mental and psychological problems, rendering him disabled. However, when he applied for disability benefits, he was denied. He filed this lawsuit, challenging the administrative law judge's denial.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
While acknowledging plaintiff's mental and psychological impairments, the ALJ did not find them severe enough to qualify for benefits.
Result
The magistrate judge issued a report and recommendation, recommending the reversal of the Administration's decision and remanded the matter for further consideration of Paniagua's impairments. The court agreed that the medical evidence did not clearly establish the non-severity of Paniagua's alleged impairments. Accordingly, the court adopted the magistrate judge's recommendations and directed the partial reversal of the Administration's denial of Paniagua's disability benefits.
