Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff allegedly applied for a job with defendant, which then required him to undergo a credit background check. Defendant's background check allegedly violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act, Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act, and California Business and Professions Code Section 17200, because the form included extra information and excluded required information. The form also allegedly violated Washington's Fair Credit Reporting Act because the credit check was not substantially related to the job for which plaintiff applied.
Result
D.A. Davidson agreed to settle the dispute for $145,000.
