Facts

A class of 4,000 customer service associates filed suit against SkyWest Airlines Inc., seeking compensation for alleged unpaid overtime and purported meal rest period violations. The class moved for certification.

Result

The court denied the class certification motion, and granted partial summary judgment against a remaining plaintiff based on preemption. Later, class certification was denied in a second putative class action bringing similar claims.
