Facts

John Zabasky filed suit against American International Group Inc. (AIG) and American Home Assurance Co., alleging malicious prosecution. He also alleged civil rights violations against the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

Contentions

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant claimed that plaintiff provided false information on an application for workers' compensation insurance with AIG and American Home. Defendants claimed that when they learned of the false information, they cancelled plaintiff's policy and commenced an investigation into plaintiff, which led to his prosecution. AIG and American Home argued that they were under a duty to cooperate and report Zabasky.

Result

The court granted defendants' anti-SLAPP motion to dismiss the complaint.
