Facts

On Feb. 10, 2006, Annalise Oppelt held a party at her house. Around 100 people attended the party, including plaintiffs Barbara Ramos, Juan Ramos, and Lukas Vera. The plaintiffs alleged that Oppelt was intoxicated at the party. An altercation occurred and defendant Justin Johnson escalated the situation. Plaintiffs claimed that Johnson pulled out a knife and began stabbing people. The stabbings resulted in one death.

The plaintiffs filed suit, alleging wrongful death, survival action, negligence, and battery.
