Plaintiff Bonnie Preston sued the City and County of San Francisco and its employee Dennis Lai, a police officer, alleging negligence in the operation of a motor vehicle.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that on Aug. 15, 2009, she was lawfully traveling through the intersection of Arguello Boulevard and Geary Boulevard in San Francisco, proceeding on a green light, when suddenly and without warning, Officer Lai entered the intersection against a red light at high speed without activating his emergency lights or siren. As a result of Officer Lai's negligent conduct, the vehicles collided in the intersection, causing plaintiff to sustain injuries to her neck and back.

Result

Settlement in the amount of $100,000.
