Facts

Ruby Pasco was stopped at a red light when she was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by Elizabeth Andrews. Pasco sued Andrews and her father, Anthony Andrews. She alleged that Andrews was negligent in the operation of her vehicle and her father was vicariously liable for her actions. Pasco argued that Andrews was driving inattentively and failed to stop her vehicle in time.

Andrews claimed that she came to a complete stop, but her foot slipped off the brake causing her vehicle to roll into Pasco's at a very slow rate of speed.

Damages

Pasco sought $12,000 to $18,000 in total damages.

Injuries

Pasco was diagnosed with soft-tissue strains and sprains. She treated with physical therapy.

Result

The jury awarded Pasco $1,254.
