Facts

The City of Fontana sued Porsha Brown for illegally operating a sports bar. The City's complaint alleged that Brown's bar was operating in violation of its conditional use permit by holding "13 and over teen nights" where there were altercations involving firearms, fights, and the illegal use of marijuana.

The Complaint also named landlord Long Meadow, LLC for maintaining a public nuisance. Long Meadow filed a cross-complaint against Brown for indemnity.

Result

The court issued a restraining order and an injunction to shut down the illegal bar. An administrative hearing was held, which resulted in its conditional use permit being revoked. A settlement was reached between the City and Long Meadow. The City later obtained a judgment, permanent injunction, and fees and costs against Brown.
