Facts

In 2008, Natasha Hughes was terminated from Sonnen Motorcars LLC where she worked as a service cashier beginning March 2005. She sued Sonnen for wrongful termination, age discrimination, race discrimination, and retaliation. Hughes was a 41-year-old African-American female.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiff demand $255,843; Defendant made a CCP 998 offer of 8,750.

Damages

Hughes sought recovery for loss of wages and commissions, as well as for emotional distress and attorney fees. She also sought punitive damages.

Injuries

Hughes suffered from emotional distress as a result of the termination.

Result

The court found in favor of Sonnen during a binding arbitration.
