Facts

Toys "R" Us did not provide full refunds for merchandise credit to customers, who returned gifts purchased online to a retail store.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Customers filed a class action suit against Toys "R" Us, alleging unlawful business practices. The class contended that the store failed to provide full refunds for merchandise purchased online.

Result

The parties reached a settlement, whereby Toys "R" Us agreed to provide $5 and $10 gift certificates to class members who were improperly refunded, with a minimum settlement payout of $2,000,000.
