An employee of a Silicon Valley-based global provider of computer networking solutions filed suit, alleging that the employer committed age discrimination by terminating the plaintiff's employment. Plaintiff was 20 years older than his colleagues when his employment was terminated.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that he was fired from his sales position because of his age, and suffered disparate treatment.

Damages

Plaintiff requested $2.8 million, and punitive damages.

Result

The jury found in favor of the defense. Plaintiff has filed a motion for new trial which is pending for hearing.
