Plaintiffs claimed that Flextronics incorrectly classified its area team leaders/territory managers as exempt from the laws that require the payment of overtime and other California Labor Code provisions that protect non-exempt employees despite their predominantly doing non-exempt work. The plaintiffs' complaint asked the court to order Flextronics to pay its area team leaders/territory managers for the overtime they worked in the past.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant argued that plaintiffs were correctly classified as exempt from overtime law, because they were executive and/or administrative employees.

Damages

Plaintiffs requested recovery for unpaid wages for meal and overtime periods, as well as related California Labor Code penalties.

Result

The case settled for $1,330,000.
