Kaneka Corp. filed a patent infringement lawsuit against SKC Kolon PI Inc. and SKC Inc. in connection with polyimide film.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
SKC allegedly sold products with polyimide film that were similar to Kaneka's patented polyimide film used in various electronics. As a result, Kaneka asserted SKC infringed on five of its patents.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
SKC denied any infringement.

Damages

Kaneka sought $13,488,765 in lost profit.

The jury found SKC had infringed on two of Kaneka's patents and awarded it $13,488,765 in lost profit.
