PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff worked for defendant as a caregiver. Defendant allegedly paid her less than the minimum wage because it misclassified her. Defendant also allegedly failed to provide her with the proper meal and rest breaks. Plaintiff sued defendant for Labor Code violations.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff was allegedly an independent contractor and not protected by the Labor Code.

Result

The judge found in favor of Zamora and awarded her $89,194 for the Labor Code violations and $46,800 in attorney fees, for the total sum of $135,994.
