Facts

Sandra Garcia and Maria Nieto were killed when an unmarked Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed in the County of Imperial and collided with their vehicle. Two of Garcia's children sustained serious injuries in the collision as well.

Result

The parties settled for $7,196,200 after all experts had prepared reports and been deposed, just prior to trial during a three day settlement conference in February 2012 before Magistrate, Jan Adler.
