PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Fifty Six Hope Road Ltd., an entity formed by Bob Marley's heirs, filed suit against A.V.E.L.A., alleging unfair competition under the Lanham Act, and intentional interference with prospective business relationships. The family alleged that A.V.E.L.A. associated its products and commercial activities with them by using images of Bob Marley without permission.
Result
The jury awarded the family $300,000 in damages for the interference claim.
