Plaintiff United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, sued defendants Abercrombie, Aircraft Stamping Co. Inc. Wendlyn H. Albin, John E. Albin, Artistic Polishing and Plating Inc., and Astronautic Enamellers, alleging they released or threatened to release hazardous substances at the South El Monte Operable unit of the San Gabriel Valley Area 1 Superfund Site in South El Monte, California in violation of Sections 106 and 107 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act.
Result
The parties agreed to a $71,800 settlement under which Abercrombie paid $6,000; Aircraft Stamping, $5,000; Wendlyn and John Albin, $700; Artistic Polishing and Plating, $60,000; and Astronautic Enamellers, $100.
