Facts

Michael Chertoff, secretary of U.S. Department of Homeland Security, employed Kevin Bell. Later, Bell claimed that his employer discriminated against him due to a disability. On June 19, 2006, Bell brought an action for violations of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title VII of Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The plaintiff asserted that Chertoff did not accommodate his disability and that Chertoff retaliated against him.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The defense denied the claims.

Result

The parties reached a settlement amounting to $48,000.
