Facts

On Nov. 17, 1997, the 83-year-old female plaintiff, was a passenger in a van, driven by an employee of the van service company. The van was stopped, waiting on South 7th Street in Renton to make a left turn into a driveway west of Talbot Road when it was struck from the rear. The plaintiff sustained bruises to the right elbow. The next day, all seven elderly passengers and the driver were examined by a chiropractor and they all claimed neck and back injuries as a result of the accident. The defendant contended that plaintiff was not injured in the collision and that plaintiff's hematoma was pre-existing.
