Plaintiff Yuliya Khoroshina, a 43-year-old homecare provider, was a passenger on defendantÆs municipal bus and
had just boarded on a rainy day. While plaintiff was on her way to a seat, the bus driver suddenly and without
warning started the bus forward, causing plaintiff to fall and fractured her ankle.

<E>The plaintiff's expert testified that plaintiff suffered a comminuted left fibular fracture which prevented her from working for approximately three months following the injury. The defendant's expert testified that plaintiff suffered a non-displaced fracture and that she could have returned to work within six to eight weeks of the injury without any restrictions.</E>
