Facts

Lieutenant Tim Runyon sued the City of Concord claiming he was retaliated against for standing up for female officers who believed they were the victims of sexual harassment. The women had filed harassment lawsuits against the police department. Runyon claimed that he had been "isolated and denigrated, both professionally and personally," for supporting several of the female officers.

Result

Runyon will receive more than $47,000 to settle the lawsuit plus a confidential amount to resolve his worker's compensation claim based upon the same allegations of the civil lawsuit.

Other Information

This was the last of three harassment/retaliation cases against the Concord Police Dept. Lisa Capocci settled in Nov. for $750,000 and Robin Heinemann settled earlier in 2011 for $150,000 plus a confidential amount to resolve her worker's compensation case.
