Henry Coronado sued Brian Kingsford, the City of Los Angeles, and the California Dept. of Transportation, involving a motor vehicle collision that allegedly occurred on April 20, 2014 at around 11 a.m.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff was driving along Sherman Way when he was struck by defendant Kingsford's vehicle. Kingsford allegedly made a left in front of plaintiff, thereby causing the collision. Plaintiff was injured and sued Kingsford alleging negligence. Plaintiff also sued the city and Caltrans for allegedly creating a dangerous intersection by negligently maintaining and operating the traffic lights at the subject intersection.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendant Kingsford denied the allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses. Kingsford contended that plaintiff was at fault for the accident. He also filed a cross-complaint against the city.
Result
Coronado agreed to settle his dispute with Kingsford in the amount of $15,000.
