Plaintiff sued defendants for premises liability after she tripped and fell on Dec. 2, 2011 while on the premises of Los Angeles Center Studios. Universal Protection Service LP provided security for the premises.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended that she tripped because of uneven roadway and that defendants were liable for her injuries.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Universal Protection Service denied plaintiff's allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses.
Damages
Present combined medical specials and disability indemnity payments from Workers Compensation carrier total approximately $116,337. Plaintiff has not been able to return to work and alleges over $1 million in future wage loss and medical care damages.
Injuries
Plaintiff claimed lumbar spine injury and left knee injury that required surgery with residual permanent left femoral nerve injury, which requires leg bracing with ambulation.
Result
Plaintiff settled with Universal Protection Service for $225,000.
