Facts

Maria Garcia sued Target Corp. in connection with a slip and fall incident that allegedly occurred on June 4, 2011.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff allegedly slipped and fell on a clear liquid as she was walking along the aisles of defendant's store. Plaintiff was injured as a result and sued Target. Target was allegedly negligent in failing to maintain the premises.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Target denied having any knowledge of the alleged spillage and maintained that the policies it had in place would have immediately alerted its workers of any spills and would have cleaned it up immediately. Hence, Target disputed plaintiff's allegations and moved for summary judgment.

Result

The trial court granted Target's summary judgment motion.
