Plaintiff Hansen Medical Inc. sued defendant Luna Innovations Inc. (Luna) claiming breach of contract, fraud, and trade secrets conversion in connection to the development of a robotic catheter.

Result

The jury awarded plaintiff $36.3 million in damages and found that Luna breached its contract, breached the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and misappropriated trade secrets. Defense verdict as to the fraud claim, but the jury found that the misappropriation was willful or malicious.
