On March 1, 2006, a van driven by Guillermo Garcia collided with Pablo Gonzalez, a 32-year-old roofer, as he was riding his bicycle. As a result, Gonzalez sued Garcia and Pacific Rim Mechanical Contractors Inc., Garcia's employer, for motor vehicle negligence.
