Facts

Plaintiff Richard T. Ng was employed as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), a division of the defendant Department of Treasury, in El Monte, California. Ng filed several Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints based on 33 incidents.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Ng contended that he was given unfairly low performance ratings and passed over for promotions in retaliation for filing the EEO complaints. Plaintiff claimed that defendant engaged in an overall pattern of harassment.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The Department of Treasury denied all allegations.

Injuries

Ng claimed emotional distress.

Result

Defense verdict.

Other Information

Ng has appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ng claimed that the IRS has continued to harass him since the filing of the lawsuit. Ng has filed several more EEO complaints, which are currently being investigated.
