Facts

A city street was graded so that water ponded in front of plaintiffs' residential property in Westwood. Small holes in the street allowed the water to infiltrate the subsurface, resulting in saturation of the soils and subsidence of the plaintiffs' residence.

Plaintiffs sued the City of Los Angeles for inverse condemnation.

Result

The case settled for $2,480,000 in mediation with Judge Robert Altman, retired at ADR Services in Century City.
