PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Johnson contended that certain diet tea and other supplement products manufactured or distributed by Triple Leaf Tea contained false or deceptive labeling and marketing because they falsely claimed to be effective for weight loss or appetite suppression but instead contained a dangerous laxative. Specifically, she identified Dieter's Green Herbal Tea, Ultra-Slim Herbal Tea and/or Super Slimming Herbal Tea Products as containing false statements or labels that were in violation of the law.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Triple Leaf Tea Inc. denied any wrongdoing.
Result
Triple Leaf Tea agreed to certain modifications on its product labels and packaging, and agreed to remove whorled mallow, the ingredient at issue in the complaint, from the products.
