Susanne Ice-Dunnigan and Dylan Dunnigan sued the California Academy of Sciences and Anne Legonsky in connection with a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Aug. 24, 2006 at the intersection of California St. and Parker St. in San Francisco.

Contentions

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied all allegations. Defendants also contended that plaintiffs were negligent and caused or contributed to the cause of the injuries complained of.

Result

The jury reached a special verdict, and judgment was entered in favor of Ice-Dunnigan. Pursuant to a stipulation, Ice-Dunnigan was awarded $147,274 in past medical expenses and $1,135,880 in non-economic damages. The court also awarded Ice-Dunnigan $113,420 in expert witness fees and prejudgment interest.
