Facts
On April 29, 2008, a vehicle in which Rosemary Gonzalez was a passenger entered an intersection in Fullerton. A SuperShuttle Los Angeles van driven by Luz Sarabia made a left turn into the other vehicle, striking its front left corner. Gonzalez filed an action alleging motor vehicle negligence against Sarabia and vicarious liability against SuperShuttle. Defendants admitted liability.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff claimed that she injured both knees, necessitating bilateral arthroscopic surgeries, and that she sustained bruising to her buttocks, as well as back and neck injuries from the collision.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendants disputed causation and damages.

Plaintiff demanded $83,500 and the defense made a 998 offer of $15,000.
Result
The jury's verdict granted plaintiff $2,000. Judgment was ultimately entered in defendants' favor because the costs they recovered as the prevailing parties exceeded the amount of the jury's award.
