Nshan Norasakharyan bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Simi Valley Chrysler Jeep Inc. for $50,581 on Dec. 18, 2006. On June 6th, Norasakharyan brought the vehicle to the dealership, reporting it was shifting into neutral while driving. On June 10th, he returned with the same concern, and the vehicle also displayed the "check engine" light. In April and May 2009, Norasakharyan reported other warning lights.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Norasakharyan filed suit against Chrysler Group LLC and the dealership, alleging consumer protection under the Lemon Law. He contended that the vehicle suffered an intermittent electrical problem, which was becoming serious and causing more problems.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Chrysler contended that the loss of power concern was repaired on the second visit and that Norasakharyan failed to mention again.
Damages
Norasakharyan sought the repurchase of his vehicle for $72,000.
Result
The jury rendered a verdict for the defense.
