Customers purchasing merchandise with a credit card from The Golf Mart and Roger Dunn Golf Shops were asked to provide their addresses, e-mails, and other identifying information.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The customers filed a class action suit against Worldwide Golf Enterprises Inc., the stores' owners, alleging violation of California Civil Code Section 1747.08.

Result

The parties reached a settlement whereby Worldwide Golf would provide $15 gift cards for class members.
