Facts

Plaintiffs sued Defendants, challenging the government's decrease in the number of species monitored throughout the forests of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Result

Under the settlement, independent scientists from the Conservation Biology Institute will evaluate the various plant and animal species the Forest Service selectively monitors during its assessments of the Sierra Nevada forests.
