Facts
Roddy Miller was driving south on Saratoga Avenue with his wife, Sally Miller. While stopped at a red traffic light, they were rear-ended by a vehicle operated by Christine Le. The Millers sued Le, claiming that she was negligent in the operation of her vehicle.
Le admitted liability for the accident.
Damages
Sally claimed $1,130 in past medical costs and sought $14,000 for her pain and suffering. Roddy claimed $9,819 in property damage and sought $14,500 for the loss of his vehicle's use.
Injuries
Sally was diagnosed with soft-tissue strains and sprains and received therapeutic treatment from her doctor for a year and a half. Roddy did not claim any injuries.
Result
The court awarded the Millers $10,800.
