On Oct. 21, 2010, Michael Lindsey was riding his motorcycle when Hector Martinez suddenly changed lanes in front of him, causing Lindsey to swerve and crash. Lindsey sued Martinez.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Lindsey argued that Martinez had been driving negligently, and that his lane change had been unsafe.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Martinez disputed both liability and damages.

Injuries

Lindsey sprained his left ankle, and was also diagnosed with lymphedema.

Result

The parties settled for $50,000 (policy limit).
