Mario Aliano and Nguyen Buren, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated sued Airgas USA LLC and Airgas Inc. relating to alleged violations of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Mario Aliano and Nguyen Buren brought a class action lawsuit against Airgas USA LLC and Airgas Inc., alleging they violated FACTA by printing the expiration date of debit cards and credit cards on customers' receipts. Under the law, they were only permitted to print either the last four digits of the credit or debit card number or the card's expiration date.

Result

The parties entered into a class action settlement. Eligible class members who made purchases at Airgas retail stores with a credit or debit card between April 4, 2011 and August 28, 2012 may receive $30.
