On June 28, 1989, Plaintiff Andrienne Cruz, a 39-year-old unemployed woman, was riding her bicycle on Kester Avenue in Van Nuys when she was struck by a truck being driven by Jose Flores, an employee of Defendant Center Jeep, on his lunch break and driving Defendant's truck.
