A Los Angeles church, several of its Board of Directors, and one of its longtime members sued former church leaders regarding a dispute over church management and leadership.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs contended that defendants resigned from church leadership yet continued to physically occupy and control church property and refused to relinquish the pulpit of the church. They brought a complaint for declaratory relief, conversion, conspiracy to convert, permanent restraining order, accounting, and damages.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants contended that plaintiffs' complaint was vague, ambiguous and unintelligible.

Result

The court sustained defendants' unopposed demurrer with 10 days leave to amend.
