The City and County of San Francisco filed an eminent domain action against Blueline Rental LLC, in connection with the city's relocation of its Central Fleet Maintenance Shop at the subject property.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The city purchased fee title to the subject property, subject to an existing lease under which defendant occupies and operates an equipment rental business. The city filed this suit seeking to terminate the lease and acquire the subject property unencumbered by defendant's occupancy.

Result

The parties reached a settlement in the amount of $1.65 million as just compensation. Blueline agreed to vacate the subject property no later than April 15, 2017.
