Plaintiffs Johnny Reynolds, Jontae Reynolds, Carla Haywood filed suit against the management company for their apartment in relation to bedbugs.

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs were experiencing bedbugs in their apartment for several months. Plaintiffs notified the management and the management did not provide pest control. Plaintiffs then contacted the Los Angeles County Department of Environmental Health who performed an inspection and confirmed bedbugs. The management was notified by Dept. of Environmental Health and issued a violation. The management still refused to provide pest control.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant claimed that plaintiffs caused the bedbugs.

Settlement Discussions

Defendant offered $2,000. No counter offer from plaintiffs.

Injuries

Plaintiffs suffered between 500 to 1,000 bedbug bites with residual scarring.

Result

The jury found in favor of the plaintiffs and awarded them a total of $465,600, which included $453,600 for Johnny Reynolds and $12,000 for Jontae Reynolds.
