On Oct. 6, 1997, Ronald Lee's vehicle sat in standstill traffic when a pick-up truck owned by Colorado Petroleum Company and driven by employee Jeffrey Kiefer struck Lee's vehicle from behind. Lee was uninsured. His wife Rosalind Lee claimed loss of consortium.
Settlement Discussions
There was a final demand of $75,000 before trial and a $37,500 offer of settlement.
Injuries
The plaintiff alleged a tear to the rotator cuff, which required surgery and a degeneration of L5-S1, which may require surgery in the future. He alleged $20,000 in past economic losses and future loss of earning capacity of $150,000. He had $15,000 in unpaid medical expenses.
