Facts

This case arose out of the wrongful death of 64-year-old Gery Lichtig at Kaiser Woodland Hills. Lichtig presented
to Kaiser with complaints of abdominal and back pain. He was seen in the urgent care department at 5:04 p.m.
Lichtig went into cardiac arrest at 6:32 p.m. and died several hours later at the hospital.

Settlement Discussions

Informal discussions included a request by the claimant for $250,000. No formal offer was made by the respondent.

Damages

The claimant contended general damages in the amount of $250,000 for the wrongful death of her husband and economic damages in the amount of $410,438 with a presumed retirement age of 75 years.
